Make Your ISP Connection Faster
November 9th, 2007If you’re using a dial-up to connect to the Internet, your Windows system may take a while to log onto the web. It’s possible to shorten the time it takes to connect with your Internet Service Provider (ISP) with a simple registry tweak.
Locate and open your folder named “Dial-Up Networking,” and right-click your ISP’s icon and click on “Properties”.
Click the tab for “Server Type”, and find “Advanced Options”. Double check that you’ve checked “Enabled Software Compression”, and uncheck the “Log on to network”. Now locate “Allowed Network Protocols”, and uncheck “IPX/SPX Compatible” and “NetBEUI”.
That’s it. Your conncetion time to ISP should be a little faster.
